N.V. Gosset Grande Reserve

The NV Grande Réserve is a gorgeous entry-level wine from Gosset. Crisp, dry and resonant, the Grande Réserve offers lovely textural depth to play off the more mineral-driven notes that are so typical of the Gosset house style. All the elements come together nicely in this effortless, gracious mid-weight Champagne. This is very nicely done. Disgorged on April 26, 2017. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. 91 points

The citrus-colored NV Grande Réserve Brut—a blend of Chardonnay (45%), Pinot Noir (45%) and Pinot Meunier (10%)—shows an intense, ripe and aromatic yet vinous bouquet with white and delicate red fruit, floral, brioche and nutty expressions. Full-bodied, dry and very fresh, this is a firm, complex, finessed, fruity, round and stimulating cuvée with a good, tight and slightly salty finish. An excellent aperitif and wine for starters. 91 points
