Jane Anson
Cassis and bilberry fruits, juicy, grilled oak, this has some pretty intense mid-palate expansion and yet retains an unfussy quality with ripe fruit, well balanced, sweet red pepper and Margaux floral character. Yield 32 hl/ha, Edouard Miailhe owner. 94 points

Broad and creamy, the 2025 Siran is a powerful, dense Margaux. There`s not much subtlety here, but then again, that does not seem to be the point. Inky red/purplish fruit, lavender, mint, rose petal and mocha are all beautifully amplified. It will be interesting to see if more complexity develops over time. 93-95 points

The 2025 Siran was picked 5 to 22 September at 32 hl/ha and matured in one-third new oak barrels. Tasted twice, it has a glorious, you could say `joyful` bouquet with plenty of energy: blackberry, blueberry, touches of violet and an underlying citrus verging on blood orange scent. The palate is medium-bodied with pleasing sapidity on the entry. Certainly more muscular and dense than the preceding vintage, it maintains precision and elegance, gambolling along to a finish that feels `complete`, even at this prenatal stage. Siran has an unerring and, I dare say, under-appreciated ability to age over the long term, proven by a 1926 drunk twice during en primeur. No doubt this has similar longevity, though perchance more approachability, and can be enjoyed after four or five years. 92-94 points
