Jane Anson
Ripe plum, raspberry, damson, sage, tobacco, slate, juicy and appealing, lots of textural elements that keep you engaged, acidity in check, this is an excellent quality Marsau that is easy to recommend. A tiny yield of 20hl/ha, after just 40mm of rain from mid June right through to end of August. Harvest September 11 to 19, early for this sector but in line with the vintage. 50hl cement vats in winery since 2024 to do plot-by-plot vinification, careful hands off extraction, ageing is 30% in cement and the rest in neutral casks. 3.6ph, this is a very regular level at this estate. 90 points

The 2025 Marsau reveals a dark, somewhat root-inflected bouquet of black fruits, spices, gentian and lead pencil, with a refined, perfumed character. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and fleshy, it’s built around a well-defined structure, combining elegance with a distinct sense of identity, concluding with a persistent, lead pencil–inflected finish. As always, this is a superb value in Bordeaux. 92-94 points
Antonio Galloni
The 2025 Marsau is a potent 100% Merlot on clay. Powerful and explosive, the 2025 possesses remarkable density from start to finish. Black fruit, mocha, licorice, dark spice and chocolate fill out the layers. Yields were just 20 hectoliters per hectare. All that richness comes through in the glass. 90-92 points
