Jane Anson
Muscular through the mid palate, significantly more intense than sibling estate La Tour de Mons, lots of power through the mid palate, liquorice and crayon, really enjoyable, very Left Bank. Harvest September 4 to 30. 30% new oak. 3.6 pH, 32hl/ha yield. Marjolaine Maurice de Coninck technical director. 93 points

The 2025 Labegorce exudes power and depth right out of the gate. Dark cherry/plum fruit, licorice, new leather, plum and chocolate hit the palate first, followed by swaths of tannin that shape the mid-palate and finish. This is a particularly fine Labegorce. I especially admire its energy. 92-94 points

The 2025 Labegorce was picked between September 4 and 30 and matured in 30% new oak. It has a refined bouquet with pure blackberry, raspberry and cedar scents, the oak supremely well integrated. There is a delicacy about the aromatics that I like and I suspect that they will gain intensity during elevage. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins, albeit slightly firmer when retasted at the chateau, a keen line of acidity, quite vibrant and very harmonious, a subtle crescendo towards the sapid, verging upon briny finish whilst keeping Margaux`s elegant style. Excellent. 92-94 points
