Neal Martin
There are three barrels of the 2024 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, 60% down on a normal crop. There is a small reduction on the nose, but the two-thirds new oak is nicely integrated with quite intense black fruit underneath. The 34% stems are neatly integrated and imbue this with flecks of cracked black pepper. The palate is well-structured with good substance, quite ripe considering the vintage, maybe without the complexity that defined the previous vintage. Give this three years in bottle so that all the components can mesh together. 94-96 points
