Jane Anson
Inky ruby in colour, beautifully expressed plum and raspberry fruit character on the aromatics, edges of crushed rose petals. Grippy tannins, with a cushion of air underneath, and clear brambled fruit character running through the palate. Expertly put together, edge of austerity and lightly grilled oak, with elegance and finisse, and appellation typicity. Good stuff from owner Bernard Leon. 93 points

The 2023 Les Trois Croix has a slight metallic trait on the nose, though there seems to be sufficient black fruit underneath. This improves in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. It’s fleshy and ripe, with fine structure and a touch of mineralite on the finish. This is just one of the best Fronsac wines out there. 91-93 points
