The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Chenes Carteaux 1er Cru, which suffered a lot of stress in the vineyard and was bottled early, has a slightly Bretty nose than other cuvees. The palate has a peppery entry. It`s a little herbaceous in style with what feels like some jarring underripe fruit on the finish. I loved the 2022, but this seems out of sorts. 85 points

An attractive vibrant purple. The bouquet is floral and juicy at the same time, much more accessible than in the past. The fruit is fully ripe, including some peaches alongside the red fruit. I would not want this any riper, but it will be lovely early on, without too much structure. Bottled in July. 92 points
