The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes is a blend of around 20 tiny lieux-dits scattered over the appellation. This has a winsome bouquet with pure black cherries and crushed strawberry fruit aromas. Hints of violet develop in the glass. The palate is quite sweet on the entry and slightly lactic in style, yet the acidity gives this cuvée the bite that it needs. There is a pleasant dab of licorice on the finish. Very fine. 89-91 points

Fifteen separate lieux-dits. 20% whole bunch vinification, 30% new wood. A full fresh ruby purple. The fruit glows and provides significant density on the palate, raspberry with an acidulated strawberry behind, attractive throughout, vigorous, no sign of overmuch sunshine at all. 89-92 points
