Kenna Wells
From three plots within Mercurey and aged with 15% new oak, the 2023 Mercurey Vieilles Vignes is one of the more immediately accessible wines in the range, offering red and black berries accented by sweet spice and a toasted oak note. Medium- to full-bodied, the wine is supple but not loose, with just enough acidity to keep the palate moving and fine tannins that lend gentle structure without hardening the finish. It is simpler in its expression, but its openness and early harmony will make it a satisfying drink in the near to medium term. 89 points
