2023 Cincinnato Nero Buono Polluce (Lazio)

Secondary Description
Full, dark notes of cassis and blackberry are cut through by gentle acidity and a thymey, balsamic note in this appealing, very Italian red. There’s a little bit of spice and coconut on the finish. Not a wine for aging, this is soft and appealing already. Cincinnato are a co-op based in the Roman town of Cori, and they specialize in quality renditions of local grape varieties. Nero Buono likes higher altitudes and volcanic soils, and in the Lepini Hills above Cori it gets both. (NT 06/05/26)

Cincinnato Nero Buono Polluce (Lazio)

Media Reviews

Eric Guido

The 2023 Nero Buono Polluce is dark and rich, showing plum sauce and blackberries with hints of mocha and spice. This is pure and savory to the core, with soft, round textures and supple wild berry fruits. A sour citrus inflection adds complexity. The 2023 tapers off long and staining, leaving a tinge of bitter licorice and sweet inner violet tones. Refined in stainless steel, the 2023 is a pleasure to taste. 92 points
