1.5 hectares of vines planted to Garnacha, Tempranillo, Viura, Malvasia, Calagrano, Garnacha Gris, Graciano, Monastrell and Malvasia Riojana, spread out over four vineyards at 550-700m of altitude in the Vinaspre region of Rioja Alavesa. 100% whole-cluster, 9 months in 2nd-fill French oak barrels - excellent depth and intensity here, complex yet full and satisfying, a `modern` style of Rioja - and excellent value! The 2022 Custero is a blend of 50% Garnacha, 20% Tempranillo and 30% Viura, Garnacha Blanca, Monastrell, Graciano, Malvasia and Calagrano, sourced from Vinaspre, Rioja Alavesa. Aged for 12 months in concrete vats and foudres, this garnet wine presents a core of black and red fruits with a cherry-liqueur note and a hint of black tea. Dry and polished, it delivers a refreshing and ripe palate. 91 points
