2022 Roger Sabon Lirac

Lirac lies just across the Rhone river from Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and offers a more approachable take on the grand and sometimes hard-to-read wines from over the river. As a Chateauneuf producer himself, Roger Sabon knows what good terroir looks like, and his Lirac holdings are excellent. This is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and old-vine Carignan. Ripe tannins and sweet dark fruit conceal hidden depths of slate, rosemary and pepper. Vintage after vintage this is an absolute steal at its price point.
