Neal Martin

The 2022 Bienvenue-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru is quite backward on the nose and demands a bit of coaxing. Eventually, it reveals red apple, lemon verbena and light petrichor scents, though I would not describe it as "intense." The palate is well-balanced and elegant in style. It is not a powerful Grand Cru, but crisp, precise and almost delicate towards the finish. I suspect it will gain more weight by the time of bottling. 92-94 points

The 2022 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot) exhibits aromas of pear and minty orchard fruit mingled with honey, white flowers and almonds. Medium to full-bodied, deep and satiny, with a sweet core of fruit that`s underpinned by racy acids, it concludes with a chalky finish. 92-94 points
