Carefully delivered damson and black cherry fruit layered with grilled vanilla bean, charred liqourice root and apricot pit, plenty of texture and depth, high volume, these are plush dramatic wines in the vintage, full of impact. 40% new oak. 92 points

The 2022 La Vieille Cure opens with a good burst of jammy fruit. Red cherry, plum, pomegranate and spice are all dialed up. However, there is a bit of edginess in the tannin that needs to resolve. 87-89 points
