Ruby colour. The fruit sits more up front, on the attack, a little more austere behind. The pervading clean red fruit continues throughout to a sound, medium length finish. 88-90 points

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d’Orveau is one of the cuvées from Grivot that never quite engages with me and this is no different. It is missing the vitality of their Vosne and Nuits Saint-Georges cuvees and feels a bit slack. The palate is medium-bodied and ameliorated by attractive, pliant tannins that frame the slightly piquant red fruit. Harmonious on the finish, it should be one of the most approachable wines and will give a decade of drinking pleasure. 87-89 points
