John Livingstone-Learmonth

(cask) dark robe; the bouquet is deep and mysterious, with a grunt factor of macerated red stone fruits, prompts of rosemary, licorice, squeezed citrus, grapefruit even. The palate carries a blood-iron opening with entrenched, concentrated content that is never static. It feeds well off its roots deep in the ground, is charged and elemental, with finesse set to peek out as it evolves. This would give the Bordelais something to think about in the nineteenth century when they bought it to bolster their wines. It’s very persistent, compelling, high interest wine, not quite 6 stars. From 2028-29. 2052-54 5 stars
