Bright medium crimson purple. The nose is a little less even and generous than the Epenottes, but there is a wealth of attractive cherry fruit with some strawberry behind. Medium length, not many tannins, and mild acidity. Drink from 2028-2036. 89-92 points

The 2022 Volnay Santenots 1er Cru has a straightforward, redcurrant and cranberry-scented bouquet, open-knit and leaning towards red more than black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, quite elegant and pure in style, with a lilting, fresh, and lightly spiced finish. One of the early-drinking Santenots. 90-92 points
