Jasper Morris
The Charmes shows higher alcohol, more lees and some need of a light sulphuring. Mid lemon yellow, and the nose has a ripe apple note, after a late malolactic and could use freshening. These are temporary details. The situation dries out the mouth a little bit for now, but there is certainly an adequate volume of fruit and I am sure this wine will turn out much at the top end of this range. Drink from 2028-2034. 90-94 points

The 2022 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru has a complex bouquet with lemon verbena, Clementine, hints of almond and hazelnut, and crushed stone coming through with time. The palate is well-balanced with a wonderful, slightly pithy texture and very good use of extract. It is slightly creamy but delivers a touch of spice on the refined finish. A sleek and composed Les Charmes. 93-95 points
