2021 Taupenot-Merme Nuits-St-Georges Pruliers

Fine mid purple. The nose shows an attractive degree of ripeness, dark fruit without being too plummy. Almost floral in a sense but mostly from fresh but ripe deep red fruit. Some white pepper behind, and a long gracious pure red fruit, fresh raspberries. Attractively persistent and quite distinguished. 92-94 points

The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru was not really touched by the frost according to winemaker Laurent Lignier. Red berry fruit is intermixed with Earl Grey and undergrowth. The palate is well balanced with sappy red fruit, tobacco and another refreshingly saline finish. Maybe is doesn`t have the finesse of the Domaine`s top cuvées in 2021, but it is a solid showing. 90-92 points
