Mid red to crimson colour. A lively, even quite exuberant strawberry fruit. Building steadily, with a sumptuous volume in the mouth, especially in relation to the vintage. A light and pleasing oak element at the back. Quite long, and certainly fine. 93-95 points

The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet with bright red berry fruit, crushed stone, orange pith and light bay leaf aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit on the opening, fine acidity, quite dense towards the finish with a dash of white pepper and allspice lingering on the aftertaste. Very fine. 92-94 points
