2021 Newton Johnson Pinot Noir Windansea

The 2021 Pinot Noir Newton Johnson Family Vineyards Windansea includes around 30% whole cluster fruit, matured in barriques for 11 months, 38% new wood, with another six months in 500-litre oak. It has a more tertiary bouquet with light mushroom scents percolating through the dark berry fruit, just a hint of black tea. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, a pinch of white pepper and sage, nicely focused with a cohesive and quite persistent finish.
