Coming from a warm vintage, you can feel a little extra evolution on the Fratelli Alessandria 2020 Barbera d`Alba Superiore Priora. It reveals layers of baked fruit, spice, earthy root and tobacco leaf. The wine offers nice definition and focus, aromatically, and that`s always the trick with Barbera. There is both chalkiness and sweetness on the close. This is a 7,000-bottle release. 91 points
