The nice balance of fruit and acidity here make this as refreshing as it is moreish. It leads on classically Italian notes of cherry and plum, with underlying notes of tomato plant and warm earth. The Polluce is not a structured or very complex wine, but is honest and satisfying. Cincinnato is a cooperative in Lazio, focussing on quality renditions of local grape varieties (of which Italy has more than almost any other country). Nero Buono is almost always used as a blending grape, so this is a rare chance to see it alone on the stage. Polluce is Pollux, one of the two mythological twins, so for the astrologically-minded this is an ideal present for a Gemini. (NT 04/08/23)
