Bruised, pithy, champagne-like fruit (red apple, creamy yeast, oxidative but refreshing); contraversial statement, but this is what you get if you make Lopez de Heredia`s Gravonia on a budget... Maturana Blanco and Turrentes (no relation to Torrontes from Argentina) from a single vineyard, aged on the lees in 500l French oak (adding the bruised character to the fruit and a very subtle spice) and egg-shaped anaerobic tanks (which emphasise lees-character). A highly individual, complex wine. (JH 01/08/2024)
