2019 NerinTerra (Priorat)

Secondary Description
Jean Belondrade calls his NerinTerra ‘a red wine with the soul of a white wine’. He should know; he spent five arduous years reconditioning an abandoned vineyard in the isolated inland hills of Priorat. He knew the vineyard was worth it. The combination of old Garnacha and Carinena and the astonishing diversity of soils make a site with extraordinary potential. Priorat can be a powerful beast, but what is remarkable about NerinTerra is the elegant, cool complexity with which it expresses the natural dark plum, pastry and floral aromatics; it has a silky texture and a long mineral finish. A compelling wine I keep returning to. (NT 12/08/22)

Decanter

Dense and powerful on the nose, with notes of dried red fruit, cranberry, fig, star anise and sandalwood. Intense with some grippy tannin and showing some charry notes on the finish. 88 points
