Tamlyn Currin
Full bottle 1,406 g. Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah. NHB. Damsons steeping in rooibos tea, rose-hip jelly, smoky bacon. So many layers in this powerful wine with its tannins of rippling thoroughbred muscle and deep-throated dark fruit. There’s a deep salty intensity that tastes of jamón ibérico, a sweetness that tastes of dried cranberries, a cumin-seed and peppercorn spiciness, garrigue wildness. Superb. 17.5 points
