The 2019 Chardonnay Carex marries power, textural intensity and energy. This site at DuMOL, planted on tight meter by meter spacing (unusual for Chardonnay) is incredibly distinctive. I would give the 2019 a few years to soften. Apricot, lemon confit, marzipan, dried flowers, sage and mint build into the expressive, resonant finish. 95 points
