Deep purple colour typical of Graciano - that colour is the reason it is included as a minor partner in most Rioja blends, but it certainly isn`t all it brings! Spicy from 18 months in new French oak, feels like a very `classic` Rioja, although the intensity of dark bramble fruit balances the oak influence well. The palate is rich and plummy, yet very fresh, high-energy, tannins make themselves felt only on the finish, and then very delicately. Complex and delicious, fabulous wine, and a very fine example of the potential of Graciano. (JH 09/10/24)
