The 2018 Touriga Nacional was aged for 12 months in used French oak and comes in at 14.1% alcohol. Chock-full of those blue fruits and aromatic up front, this is terrific. This has fine depth, good freshness, beautiful structure with moderate tannins and a long finish. This is a super Touriga that should develop and improve. It`s delicious and well constructed both. It will be better next year. 94 points

Inky dark red, almost black at the core. Intense aroma of cassis with top notes of vanilla, spice and bergamot. Smells more oaky than the Colheita 2018 – I am not sure if there is more or younger oak here or if it is just the interaction between the variety and the barrels. Very firm – but not in any way astringent – dry tannin texture, with a rocky/savoury darkness, almost a hint of char, even with the floral notes of the variety in the background. Complex in youth. Long, chewy finish. Should age very well. You could approach it now but only with food. 17+ points
