Jane Anson

As with the main wine at Doisy, this is a huge success in the vintage. It offers stunning texture with flavours that hug your palate, gripping on tightly with concentration but shot through with seductive power. A lovely wine, and at 25hl/ha from a good yield too. Delicious. 97 points

100% Sauvignon Blanc. RS 205 g/l. This sample is colder than the others but it is also noticeably fresher, despite all its intense sweetness. Refreshing to have all this lively Sauvignon fruit. Creamy, deep, reduced-down peaches and apricots. Gorgeous intensity and still balanced. 17.5 points

The 2018 L`Extravagant has a pale to medium lemon-gold color. WOW—the nose is super intense, featuring notes of lime cordial, orange peel, pink grapefruit and guava plus touches of chalk dust, lime leaves and acacia honey. Incredibly rich, sweet and hedonic in the mouth, the wonderfully oily palate reveals fantastic freshness and epic length. 95-97 points

As always (in recent vintages, anyway) this is 100% Sauvignon Blanc. A distinctive nose which speaks clearly of the Sauvignon fruit here, with scents of limes, tangerines and other vibrant citrus fruits, with a creamed sense of richness. This also comes across on the palate, which shows satsuma and lime fruits, all wrapped up in a rich, heady, plump and viscous texture, with plenty of fine acidity and a grained mineral vein. It is richly polished, certainly idiosyncratic, albeit with evident substance and residual, and of course it has lovely acidity. It`s not what Sauvignon is for in my opinion, but I admire the intent. 92-94 points
