The domaine’s largest cuvee, and what they consider their flagship bottling. It comes from 12 different old vine parcels totalling 3 hectares, which is a third of their total land under vine. The various parcels also come from 3 very different soils types: sand, chalk and clay. Beautiful definition (clearer, for instance, than the Clos Solon) with plum and red cherry, and lifted by a lovely freshness. There is also a big finish which seems to spread right back through the mouth. (NT 09/01/20)

William Kelley
Revisited in bottle, Fourrier`s 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes mingles aromas of cherries, berries and cassis with hints of soil and warm spices, framed by a deft application of glossy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and gourmand, with a ripe core of fruit, powdery tannins and lively acids, it has turned out very nicely in the generous style of the vintage. 90 points
