Sémillon flavours are to the fore right now in this full and ripe white. Exotic fruits, stone fruits, apricot and white peach flesh all vye for attention on the palate. It`s a little low in acidity but beautifully balanced and extremely caressing. I tasted this a few times and the generosity and delicacy came across each time. There`s a lot to enjoy here, but in a softer, gentler expression. 25% new oak. 40hl/ha yield. 92 points

65% Sauvignon, 35% Sémillon; 25% new oak. Cloudy lemon. Invitingly creamy, mealy aroma over lively citrus plus a touch of crushed stones. More herbal on the palate. Deeply fruited, obviously oaky, but flavourful and with potential harmony. 16.5 points

The Carbonnieux 2018 Blanc features intense lime juice, yuzu and green mango scents with touches of lemon curd and white pepper. Medium-bodied, very tightly wound and zesty in the mouth, it has a racy backbone and a mineral-laced finish. 91-93 points

This is a blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon, picked at a yield of 40 hl/ha. The alcohol is 13%. It has some quite primary Sauvignon character on the nose, box tree and yellow capsicum, with a contradiction of citrus buttercream and vanilla pod on one side, a little crushed-gravel mineral twist on the other. A rather loose and open palate, carrying the same box and bitter citrus pith notes from the nose, supported by a charming, bitter and full phenolic backbone. It is the phenolic substance than gives frame to this wine, although there is a subtle spindle of acidity running though the middle. But, as with many of the whites in the vintage, it feels rather softly composed. The élevage will be ten months in oak barrel, 30% new, with bâtonnage. Tasted twice. 89-91 points
