One of Meursault’s finest premier crus, named after the juniper bushes that once flourished here before the more profitable grape. Lemon, grapefruit, white flower and flint. Precise, lively, textured and mouth-coating, this is a tannic, slightly smoky white wine. Tight and intense now, harbingering an explosive future richness. Very fine. (NT 06/01/20)

The 2018 Meursault Genevrieres 1er Cru feels a little more muted than its peers, maybe just lacks the same degree of amplitude. The palate is balanced with good extraction. Slightly honeyed in style, with plenty of substance, it does not quite deliver the tension and mineralite of its peers. Perhaps one of the earlier drinking Genevrieres. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting. 90 points
