2017 La Tour de By (Medoc)

This starts well with a bright, cool blue fruit attack and well-finessed tannins, but this is not carried through the mid-palate and finishes a little short. It doesn`t escape the difficult fruit ripeness of the vintage, although there is an elegance and definite sense of restraint here - it`s not trying to overcompensate. 87 points

Very dark with black core. Sweet cassis and black plum on the nose. Could do with a little more oomph on the palate but balanced and fresh overall. Slightly dusty/chalky finish. 15 points
