From a selection of 8 parcels. (Normally 9, but one went to another cuvee this year). Average 50 year-old vines. Freshness, structure. Great attack, a complex middle doing a lot, then elegant glide to finish. (NT 22/02/18)

The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Village comes from eight different blocks instead of the usual nine, as the Les Crots has been bottled separately. It has a simple but effective bouquet of red cherries and cranberry jus aromas. The candied palate is well balanced, offering sappy red fruit, gentle grip and a lightly spiced finish. Fine. 86-88 points

The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges Village displays a somewhat high-toned bouquet of cedary red and black fruits and dark chocolate, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate with velvety structuring tannins and a tangy core of fruit. It`s acid-driven and middle-weight in style and it will drink well comparatively young. 88 points

Discreet wood serves as a relatively neutral backdrop for the fresh aromas of red currant and earth that are laced with plenty of sauvage character. The rich, mouth coating and sappy medium weight flavors possess fine volume while concluding in a nicely persistent finish that is, if not exactly refined, then certainly less rustic than usual. 88-90 points
