The 2017 Le Dragon de Quintus has a simple, slightly rustic bouquet that needs more ripeness. This feels just a little green. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, simple blackberry and raspberry fruit with a slightly smudged finish. 84-86 points

Not affected by the frost – hit only their third wine (St-Émilion de Quintus), for which the vines are lower down. 87% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc.
Dark purple, sweet, fragrant, nicely dusty with some vanilla sweetness. Intensely fruity, lots of freshness and very smooth tannins. Juicy and quite fleshy. Relatively simple but concentrated. 16 points

Composed of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, the 2017 le Dragon de Quintus is deep garnet-purple colored and scented of baked cherries, warm mulberries and blackberry pie with touches of bay leaves and fertile loam. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a lively backbone and ripe, grainy tannins defining the vibrant fruit, finishing with impressive length and an herbal lift. 88-90 points
