Jane Anson
Extremely vibrant violet in colour, this is an even blend of Cabernet and Merlot, aged in 30% new oak barrels. There was no frost at this property, and the overall feeling is of vibrant but fairly softly-spoken red fruits, violet-edged with raspberry notes and gentle smoke. It`s a bit underpowered through the mid-palate, lacking some intensity, so it`s one to enjoy in the medium term, to relish the floral perfume of a Margaux without expecting anything too powerful or persistent. 88 points

The 2017 Deyrem Valentin is a light to mid-weight Margaux done in a style that emphasizes bright, red-toned fruit and floral aromatics. The 2017 is not especially complex, but it is quite approachable. Readers should expect a delicate, understated Margaux. 88-91 points
