From Reas and Riviere, this sees about 20% new oak. This has presence, dark fruit. It`s very supple with good flesh and substance. Quite long, good, dark fruit. (CW 8/11/18)

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village comes from two parcels: Les Réas and Rivière, next to Arnaux-Lachaux’s winery. The well-defined bouquet features blackberry, raspberry and light earthy aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins. This is already very tensile with fine energy, tapering a little toward the finish but leaving behind an attractive black cherry and bilberry aftertaste. Very finely crafted. 89-91 points

A discreet application of wood frames the notably spicy dark fruit aromas of cassis, black raspberry and Asian-style tea. The medium weight flavors aren`t quite as dense as those of the Gevrey but they`re more refined thanks to the finer grain of the supporting tannins shaping the velvety if mildly austere finale. A very good villages. 88-91 points
