An orange wine with none of the faults of the genre, Los Corrillos is tense, dry, tight and mineral, but one can sense the future richness waiting in the wings. This is a remarkable sort of white Rioja. It is a micro-blend from four small vineyards where the vines are between 70-100 years old (mainly Jaen Blanco, with some Viura and Malvasia to make up the difference). It ferments with native yeasts (and the grape skins, making it orange) then spends 5 months aging in chestnut barrels. A marvel of a wine. (NT 04/01/18)
