This is made from 70 year old vines and the vineyard is next to Bonnes Mares. The first impression is of an intense griotte cherry nose, well defined. In the mouth it’s the most mineral so far at start and finish. It’s a wine of layers. layers of texture including a touch of glycerine, layers of flavour – more cherry – layers of mineral. And it’s very long, very suave and very complex already with decent weight and plenty of matter. (CW 9/11/17)

Aromas of dark currant and plum are nuanced by plenty of earth and spice elements that slide gracefully into finer but still muscular flavors that flash a bit more minerality on the dusty, focused and balanced finish. At present this does not possess superior complexity but the underlying material appears to be sufficiently fine that more depth should eventually develop and my projected range assumes that it will. 90-93 points

Mid crimson. Peppery and fragrant on the nose, deliciously fragrant with both fruit and oak spice. Deep and rich on the palate. Pretty oaky just now but has the balance for long ageing. A bit austere at the moment. 17- points
