This Simonroth Lemberger leverages all the freshness of sour cherry and sweet blueberry in a wonderful bright combination. A great picnic or barbecue wine, this will also keep you happy without food. It`s structured but very finely and precisely done. If I were a younger, trendier wine critic I`d recommend Mozart or Pharrell Williams as aural accompaniment. Rainer Schnaitmann has turned into a brilliant winegrower since his career change from architect and his almost cult status is justified here. (CW 02/07/19)

Schnaitmann`s 2016 Lemberger Steinwiege (Dry Estate) opens with a terribly pure, fresh and pristine sour cherry, blueberry, cranberry and mulberry bouquet on the spicy/fruity nose. With floral flavors on the palate and in the aftertaste, along with perfectly ripe and juicy dark fruit aromas, this is a super juicy and stimulating Lemberger with good concentration and fine tannin grip. The best Steinwiege I have tasted so far. Highly recommended. 13% alcohol. 90 points
