Neal Martin
The 2016 Le Marquis de Calon Ségur is a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon matured in 30% new oak, bottled in June 2018. It has a delightful bouquet of blackberry, boysenberry and tobacco aromas; hints of dark chocolate emerge with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a lively, energetic opening. This is well balanced and nicely poised, displaying a fine bead of acidity, and it feels long in the mouth. A deeply impressive second wine from Calon-Ségur that should give a decade of drinking pleasure. 91 points
