Neal Martin
The 2016 Malescot Saint-Exupery has a refined bouquet with blackberry and bilberry fruit, well defined with neatly integrated oak, though there is a little brettanomyces that emerges in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, not powerful but fresh and classic in style, with a touch of sour cherry and tobacco on the finish. Fine. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting. 91 points
