The 2016 Les Forts de Latour has an outstanding nose: blackberry, graphite and violet scents, with the oak seamlessly enmeshed, very focused and poised. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a mixture of red and black fruit, tobacco and black pepper. Impressive precision towards the finish, this is a sophisticated Pauillac that will go the course. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting. 95 points
