Espresso, flowers, tobacco and ample dark red berries are all over the place. Medium-bodied, soft and with delicious red fruits on the palate the wine has lift, energy and staying power. Value hunters seeking a wine from Margaux should be all over this one. 91 points

The 2016 Deyrem Valentin is soft, plush and inviting. Dark cherry, chocolate, new leather, licorice and spice are pushed forward in a silky, supple Margaux that offers tremendous near and medium term appeal. Floral notes add brightness on the finish as the 2016 acquires a bit more finesse with time in the glass. 91 points

The 2016 Deyrem Valentin has a ripe and generous bouquet that calms down in the glass, revealing attractive cranberry and blackcurrant fruit laced with pressed violets and iris. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, lovely pure-black fruit with just a hint of graphite. What I love about this Margaux (one of my favorites incidentally) is the disarming precision on the finish. It is simply a beautiful wine whose silky texture will seduce from 100 yards! 91-93 points
