Vinified with 20% whole clusters. Evident but not generous wood influence is sufficiently well-integrated to allow the spicy and distinctly earthy red cherry and mildly sauvage-inflected aromas to be appreciated. There is first-rate intensity and very good power to the more obviously stony flavors that deliver very fine depth and length on the well-balanced finish. This too should amply reward mid-term cellaring. 90-92 points
