A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Sangiovese (25%), Merlot (20%) and Petit Verdot (5%), the 2016 Non Confunditur is an entry-level Tuscan red from the Montalcino area in the southern part of the region. My initial impression of the wine was a bit off-putting, mostly because of a bright berry bitterness that jolts the palate and makes your mouth pucker. With just a few vigorous swirls, that hard edge had lifted. Despite those rough beginnings, I am happy to recommend this wine for those seeking value buys from this beautiful part of Italy. Some 150,000 bottles were made. 89 points
