Dip your nose in the glass and there is an immediate explosion of black fruits. Blackberries, black currents and cassis on the palate all shot through with a real zing of acidity. Lots of lift, polish and energy. Pure and surprisingly low in tannins compared to some previous vintages. This is a lot sleeker than the rather rotund and OTT bottle suggests. An interesting and extremely good value alternative to things like Barolo. (EE 31/10/20)
