2015 Naude Old Vines Chenin Blanc

The 2015 Old Vines Chenin Blanc comes from 40-year-old vines in Swartland and Durbanville. It has a lifted sea spray and light hazelnut bouquet, with subtle chalky notes underneath and a hint of wet wool. The palate is well balanced, displaying a slightly waxy texture on the entry, and notes of tangerine, mandarin, wet wool and light toffee toward the fresh finish. This Chenin is probably more about the texture than overt flavors, yet is well crafted and cerebral. 91 points
