Neal Martin
The 2015 Château Lespault-Martillac has a slightly blocky blackberry and raspberry-scented bouquet, touches of cold slate and gravel in the background, rendering this more reserved and masculine compared to its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, moderate weight in the mouth, what you might describe as a "solid" Pessac-Léognan with a slightly brutish finish that will need to be abraded during its élevage in barrel. 87-89 points
Jane Anson
Tight tannins, full extraction and very modern. Ripe coffee fruit and grippy tannins; plenty to enjoy. One of the bigger expressions of the vintage. 90 points
